Adult Ministries

Friendship Circle

Friendship Circle meets at church, once a month during the evening. We describe ourselves as a group who gets together in friendship and fellowship, and who believes in old fashioned Christian values and service to our Lord. We do many different projects during the year for our Church, both small and large, including the making of vestments for the altar and banners to decorate the sanctuary. Wednesday Bible Study

We have Bible Study which meets on Wednesday of each week at 6:30pm, except for the summer months of July and August. This study group typically picks a contempory work of liturature to analyze, and then discuss its application to our world and community, as well as to ourselves. The starting time of this study varies throuhout the year. If you would like to join our exciting bible study, please contact Pastor Jackie Salgado at the church office 630-766-4124.

Music Ministries

Our musician leads our congregation in a mixture of Contemporary and Traditional hymns

and songs. Words to the songs are displayed on the screens at the front of the Sanctuary,

thus minimizing the need to use hymnals or other song books, although they will still be

made available for each pew.

Childrens Ministry

All Children are Welcome!

Sunday School is held every Sunday morning from 10:15 to 11:00. Children will gather in the Sanctuary and participate in worship until the "Sharing of the Peace" is finished at which time, the children are sent to their classes. Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry for All!

Know someone in need of being wrapped in prayers?

You are welcome to pick either an "over-the-shoulder" prayer shawl or "hand-held" pocket prayer shawl to give to someone who needs it. You can speak with Pastor Salgado at 630-766-4124 to get a prayer shawl. The Pastor will individually bless the shawl for the person who will be receiving it!

Prayer shawls are a solid way that we can let people know that we, as a congregation, are praying for them and that God is journeying with them at this time!

Know that Prayer Shawls are available for people within and outside of the congregation!

Outreach Ministries

Our goal is to identify and minister to those in need, within our local and global communities. We strive to be intentional, inclusive, and engaged to eradicate poverty of the mind, body and spirit. To serve faithfully and respond to sensitive issues of social concerns through organized activities. To this end we pledge our time, resources, and prayers.

During the course of a year, we are involved in many different events, such as:

Drive Thru Ashes for Ash Wednesday, UMCOR Health Kits, Serenity House Hygiene Bags, Community Garden, Chicago Homeless Sandwich Run, Feed The Starving Children, Winter Clothes Closet for Gloves, Hats, and Coats", and PADS.
